I originally started this blog with the purpose of sharing family news and photos with long distance relatives. With the move back to Nebraska and Facebook I think most of my readers have quit reading this. My main readers now live within two miles of me and see Cody pretty much daily. (except when they snowbird to Florida and leave us in a blizzard bound state.) Do any of you in Colorado, South Dakota or Florida still read this?

Today was the first day of soccer. Cody had never played before and I didn't even know if he really wanted to play until we got to the field. Once we were there he dropped his ball and started kicking it like a natural. I was pretty impressed! His coach, Mary, was really nice and worked well with the kids. Once Cody understood he couldn't use his hands and he had a specific goal to kick towards, he was great! He was actually pretty aggressive on the field. We had a few whiney moments, but not too bad. All in all, he had a great time and asked to play again next week.

I am 99% done decorating the front room. Gail and Maren came down this weekend and really helped pull it all together. Thanks girls!

Fireflies are a summer pastime that I enjoyed as a child. This is Cody's first time. He loved it!

Nothing has really changed in our lives since my last post. Just more of the same, work, school, and playing with toys. Yeah, I admit it. I play Transformers too!

Cody has been doing a lot of growing lately. I swear I just bought him new shoes and he needs new already!! He's been eating a ton and sleeping a lot too. I can't really complain, but the boy eats four packs of oatmeal for breakfast!! Not to mention he's always hungry. I don't want to think about the teenage years. I'll start saving for groceries now I guess!

Cody has been practicing writing his name. At first is was ydoc now he's down to coby. At daycare he made a coupon book for my mother's day gift. Each of the coupons is signed by coby. Think he'll still redeem them? My favorite is the one that is good for taking out the trash. Hmm, methinks I'll be doing most of the work on that one!!

I've been busy getting the garden ready for veggies. I have some planted and I'm going to get the rest tomorrow. It's going to be a lot smaller than my CO garden, but start small grow big is the plan. I'm going to try making and canning salsa this fall. I'll call ya when it's ready to taste test.

Other than gardening and yard work I've just been working. I am really liking my job and enjoy going to work everyday. I take that back, there were a couple of days there where I really could have stayed in bed. Other than that though, I love my job.

Take care, WonderWeitzel

The Easter Bunny came to our house last night! Cody really liked his candy and Gator Golf game. Then he looked for the hidden eggs. He kept saying, "this is a really good idea." Apparently that bunny does know what he's doing. Later today we'll head over to Mister and Grammas for some Easter nourishment. Happy Easter everyone!!

Dying Easter Eggs

Cody and I dyed eggs today. It was the first holiday thingy where it was just the two of us. It was really nice. He really enjoyed the "magic" crayon that came with the kit. Hope everyone has a happy happy Easter.
